Collaborative Essay


At the the first time hearing these words, 1 thing that just popped in my mind; collaboration. Will I do an eassy with collaboration, I mean with many people? the answer is yes. I did the essay with many people. We use Google docs as the media. I have done it before in other class (writing class). also I have already know this apps since I was in in Senior High School (around 4 years ago). Who told me about that? My cousin who at that time she still in university and she use this app. She told me that this app is very useful and helpful. We can do in the same page but in a different places. When I heard it, I just say wow, this app is amazing.

So back to the beginning. I just did a collaborative essay with my friends. 1 group consist of 4 people.I just want to tell you what I have learned from this experience. As I said before, we can did this in a different places so we don't have to see each other to do this essay. I have no problem with that because I have already know about this and I have done it before.I really know that this app is very helpful for me because we can do it anytime and anywhere. this app just help me so much and I really like this app. But I thing, I have to be very calm because 1 of the group member did not do anything (I know that she/he just wrote something but it didn't helpful and also it is not their "job"). this app really helpful for teachers out there because this is online system and what you have to do is sitting on the chair, online, and typing. Finish.
you can also give comment to the writing of yours or your friends'. you can chat on the chatting section, it is for you who want to ask something to each other or discussing about the essay.
this is very useful in the future. I believe that my students will understand and will use this for every subject they have. and also I can check their project by seeing the history: who have done and who haven't. It is very simple right?

In this collaborative essay, I took content facilitator. My job is filling the content. Haha. my contribution in this essay : I'm facilitating the content, all about the content. I made opening (introduction) and the content. Jovita and I have the same job. so sometime I discussing this with her. If I made the "first sentence", she will be the "supporting detail". she add something which maybe I forget or what I'm not thinking about.
what I did which were not related with my job is I rearrange all the paragraph which is this is the outline's job. I don't know what is in her/his mind, but she/he did a little thing that there is no effect.

I thing the experience was stressful because what I said before, 1 of member group didn't contribution. from scale 1 until 10, I will rate it 5 of successful.  because collab means that we have to help each other, we have to cooperate each other, but the fact is not like that.

Honestly, I like this collaboration, but i don't like how the way member do this. each member supposed to help each other. later on, I will tell my student to do what their job is. If they dont understand, I will explain it. If it is possible, I will come them 1 by 1 to task them what have you done to this essay and what you don't understand.. Actually I like this but not the member.

    Hello Pricil! Wow, when I was in Senior High School, I didn't know about this collaborative writing yet. I used to come to my friend's home only for doing homework together. What a waste of time. Now I don't have to do that anymore. :)

Mobile Learning. One thing that popped into our minds; learn thing using a mobile phone, may be education game in a smartphone, or watching education video in a smart phone, or whatever it is, it using a mobile phone. What I think is basically true. Mobile learning is a learning process using a smartphone. even you taking a picture, it includes mobile learning. taking a picture of important things like a museum, notes, anything!  In this case, Jovita and Pricil made Nearpod.
