Mobile Learning
Mobile Learning. One thing that popped into our minds; learn thing using a mobile phone, may be education game in a smartphone, or watching education video in a smart phone, or whatever it is, it using a mobile phone. What I think is basically true. Mobile learning is a learning process using a smartphone. even you taking a picture, it includes mobile learning. taking a picture of important things like a museum, notes, anything!
In this case, Jovita and Pricil made Nearpod. We made a topic; apostrophe S and capital letter. What is the setting? We think that this kind of activity can be done in school learning, everyday learning, and private learning. This is very cool because when we explain it, we also can make quizzes at the same time, so after listening to our explain, and also after watching a related video that we put in there, students can do the quizzes, it can e a mini quiz like multiple choice, draw which one is true or draw which one should be better.
What level are our students? It can be 5th grade and above because, in this grade, they have already understood many words and possessive. So it will be simple if we explain this to them who are 5th-grade students.
This is what we got to our mobile learning using nearpod
we have quiz, draw, link, video for comprehension
In this activity, students must understand how and where to put the capital letter and apostrophe S. Capital letter must put for name, places, country, first capital. Apostrophe S is for possessive.
What students have to do with our nearpod? First, you join ours with a special code or we can give the link so the students can do it wherever they want. There are many slides in our nearpod. there is 1 video that the students can see and there are 1 mini quiz and 2 draw quizzes. For this one, they can do it twice a week if they have difficulties.
Eventually, Pricil did not do the teaching demonstration but Jovita did because at that time Pricil was sick. What Jovita said was we have 1 error grammar in the slide and we have to put a mini-quiz in the beginning of the presentation. Overall, it's great.
Whoa Pricil, it was a brief explaination :) You should put steps how to make nearpod so that people can understand if they want to make that. Overall that's a great job tho!
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteNice post!
But I think that you should elaborate more on how to use it.
Thank you.
Wow Pricil! I'm amazed. I don't know if we can learn through mobile phone. What an amazing news! Usually I just playing and watching videos in my phone but now I can learn too. Thank you for sharing such a useful post
